Gun Safety is paramount at Hillsboro Trap and Skeet Club. We want everyone to have fun and enjoy themselves while shooting and handling guns, but we want to do that safely. It is easy to be safe and after a while, it becomes second nature.

At Hillsboro Trap and Skeet club we have:

Thirteen American Trap Fields – American Trap is a game where the targets fly away from the shooter at different angles. Shooters can shoot Singles from the 16-yard line, Handicap targets from the 17-27-yard line and Doubles. For more information about shooting Trap visit: Trap shooting – Wikipedia

Two American Skeet Fields – American Skeet is a game where the targets fly basically at a perpendicular angle to the shooter. For more information about shooting Skeet visit: Skeet shooting – Wikipedia

One International Bunker Field – Targets are faster, smaller and fly at exaggerated angles compared to American Trap. Our International Trap Bunker is available by special reservation only.

No Experience or Gun Necessary:

If you have never shot Trap or Skeet, no problem! One of our friendly staff or club members will give you some basic training in gun safety and shooting. We will also be there for assistance to ensure you are comfortable with shooting and doing it safely.

We have shotguns you can rent, if you don’t have your own.

By the way, everyone is required to wear hearing and eye protection while shooting. If you don’t have your own, we have some ear plugs you can purchase and safety glasses you can borrow.

We also have a limited number of shooting vests or belt pouches you can borrow.
